The first CLAN LOGAN SOCIETY was formed in 1913 in Glasgow, by the efforts of Thomas Logan, Esq., J.P., of Lastrick House, Shawlands who’s efforts made him the first elected President. Thomas Logan, Esq., Provost of Partick, was elected as Hon. Secretary, and William Logan as Bard of the Society. He and Piper Logan composed several Clan songs and marches. Only two Clan gatherings took place, both were in Glasgow. The first was during 1913, a dinner, and the second was a dance during 1914. The Great War, in which many clansmen lost their lives, put an end to the Clan gatherings. It was hoped that members of the Clan would some day revive these gatherings and restart the Clan Logan Society. In 2002 The CLAN LOGAN SOCIETY was re-established in North Carolina.
Historical records testify that George Logan of Logan, great grandson of Robert Logan, 7th and last baron of Restalrig, registered arms with the Court of the Lord Lyon as Logan of that Ilk in 1673, being thereby recognized as Chief of the Name and Arms of Logan. With the death in 1802 of his descendant Hugh Logan of that Ilk, the Chiefship became dormant and has remained so to the present day.
