Joanne Logan, BSc (CompSci)
Special Events Coordinator
Joanne became a Logan forty years ago and began a lifelong connection to Scottish culture and family by marrying her husband, Stanley, who was born in Elderslie. Although learning to navigate the accents and lexicon of his extended family took some time, Joanne quickly grew to love the warmth, humor, and traditions that define Scottish life. A few years into their marriage, Joanne, Stanley, and their daughter made their first trip to Scotland—a journey that permanently shaped their family and strengthened their connection to the Logan family. They made it a priority to return often, first with their children, and then as empty nesters.
Professionally, Joanne holds a degree in computer science and began her career in that field. She soon transitioned into education, though, and spent much of her professional life guiding college students through the tempest of university life. She also worked part time in the family business, Scottish Treasures, often bringing along her young son, Caleb. Those early experiences came full circle when Caleb became the Heritage Officer for Clan Logan Society International.
Currently, Joanne contributes her educational mentorship skills to civic engagement, serving as a lead poll worker trainer. Outside of election cycles, she enjoys creative pursuits working in multiple media, including resin, painting, and quilting, as well as decorating cookies as a side business. Above all, Joanne treasures her role as Nana to her grandchildren, spending as much time with them as possible and cherishing the joy they bring to her life.
